operation.
Registered Nurse
A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating health care, assisting patients in understanding
illnesses, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Licensed Practical Nurse
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) provide primary medical care to patients and assess their wellbeing as
part of a larger medical team. As well as checking vital signs and recording a patient's medical history,
they assist patients with hygiene.
Certified Nursing Assistants
Certified Nursing Assistants help patients with their basic needs. This care usually involves helping them
bathe, dress, and eat. These patients might include stroke victims, residents of nursing homes, or people
recuperating from accidents, injuries, or surgeries.
Nurse Practitioners
Nurse Practitioners (NPNs) can provide primary and specialty care. Typically, they work with a specific
population of patients, like adults, geriatrics, children, psychiatric, and mental health patients.
Depending on whether they are fully authorized to practice in their state, they can work alongside a
doctor or independently.
